About TechFix Q&A

TechFix Q&A is a growing reference of short fixes for the errors people hit most often in spreadsheets, code and servers. It covers Excel and Google Sheets formulas, JavaScript and TypeScript, Python, SQL databases, React, and Docker and Git.

What each answer contains

• A one-line summary of what the error means.
• The usual cause, so you can recognise it in your own file or code.
• Numbered steps to fix it, in the order to try them.
• An example you can copy and adjust.

How answers are written

Each answer is written for this site rather than copied from documentation or other pages. We aim for the shortest explanation that still lets you fix the problem, and we name the exact menu, function or command to use.

Accuracy and corrections

Software changes, and some fixes depend on your version or setup. If an answer did not work for you, or you see a mistake, please contact us with the question title and what happened. Corrections are made to the answer itself.
